December 13—Club curling. We have room for 3 sheets. Get in touch with games@londoncurling.org.uk if you want to join us.
Join us every Tuesday and Wednesday night between October and April. New curlers are always welcome, with free coaching and equipment available. We can even pick you up from Tonbridge train station and bring you back from the rink at the end of the night. Experienced or not, you can be sure of a good time with friends and great ice. Answers to the most common questions about curling with us can be found here. If you would like to join us please email James Hustler at games.secc@googlemail.com.
The European Curling Championships are nearly here and we’re very proud to have a few players from our club participating. Stephen Hinds and Mark Wilkinson will be playing for England with skip, Bruce Bowyer, and teammate Ricky Hills. Andrew Grant will be the fifth player.
The women’s team is made up of skip Joan Reed, Lorna Rettig at third, Claire Grimwood at second and Kirsty Balfour at lead. Caroline Reed is going as a fifth player.
You can keep up with our English teams here. We will be posting the scores as they happen.
Petra Groot is at the top of the Umbrella League, which ranks players based on how they’ve done in non-Straus games. The ranking is based on points, shots won, then shots lost and then how many shots up or down you are. Ian MacDonald and Friedel Grant are second and third.
We’ve just got 2 more Tuesday night curling sessions left before Christmas, the 13th and the 20th. Both of them will be fun nights so come along for a good way to unwind among friends from the holiday rush. On the 20th we’ve even been promised mince pies from Steve! Jane Clark is organising both nights and you can reach her by emailing jane dot l dot clark at btopenworld dot com

Big congrats to both the English Women, skipped by Joan Reed, who won a bronze medal in the European Championships and also to the English Men, led by Bruce Bowyer, who came in fourth. Both teams did wonderfully and have a lot to be proud of. You can see some pictures of the competition in our photo gallery.
The European Curling Championships were held in Garmisch Partenkirchen, southern Germany, in December 2005. Three of the men’s team, skipped by Bruce Bowyer, come from the Province of London Club and many of the women’s team, skipped by Joan Reed, have curled with us as well. Below you’ll find a list of all the games the men and women played in.
